Year 2

Wow year 2, this is the very last week of term!!! I am so proud of you all for working so hard all year.

Epic Reading has awarded us a 1000 book readapillar badge! I could not be more proud of all my readapillars!! Soon it will be time for you to spread your wings and fly off to year 3! How amazing is that?

This week I have given you some transition work to do so that you are ready for Year 3.

We are also going to have a virtual sports day! Look on the main children's page for Mrs Lowery's special sports day activities.  I hope that you all join in and have lots of fun!

Remember to email me your results by 3pm on Thursday please.

Home learning for the week beginning Monday 29th June

Hello Year 2,

I hope that you are all still keeping happy and healthy.

I have added this week's plans and resources in separate folders, one for English and another for Maths. If you have any problems accessing any of these documents please get in touch with me either by email or by ringing the school office.

I am very proud of hard you are working and I encourage you to keep up with your work. It is very important that everyone keeps learning while they are at home.

I am delighted with how many books you are reading on Get Epic. As a class we have read over 600 books!!! This is an amazing achievement!!! Keep up the fabulous work!

Home learning for week beginning Monday 22nd July.

Well done to everyone in Year 2 who has had a go at our new format of Literacy and Numeracy!

All of the feedback I have received so far has been really positive, although some of the literacy tasks have been challenging. This week we will revise some of the key skills from last week, finish our work Magical Box work and continue with our work on fractions.

As always if you need any help or you have any questions then please ask.

I will email everyone on Monday and it is vital that you respond to these if your child is not in school. I know that everyone is busy but all I need is a short email in reply.

If you have been sending me pictures of your child's work then please continue to do so. I really love seeing what everyone is up to!

You are all working so hard and I am very proud of you! smiley

This week is a little bit different, next week will follow this pattern too.

I would love to know what you think! Which format do you prefer?

Please email me your views!

Remember: It is important that we keep in touch every week.

Please remember to send me a quick email to let me know how you are getting on!

As always, I am here to help so if you have any questions please get in touch.

I know it is hard to keep up with your learning at home but you are doing a fantastic job!

By Friday, you will have completed a full half term of home learning! That is something you should be really proud of! You are being so grown-up! ❤

I'm looking forward to speaking to you again this week.

Thank you to everyone who has gotten in touch this week! Please remember to get in touch at least once a week. You can email me at a.walsh@stmarys-harrington.cumbria. sch.uk  or leave me a message on Purple Mash. I've loved seeing all of your amazing work and hearing your news.

This week I'm to ring you all to see how you are getting on. I'm looking forward to speaking to everyone!

Some of you have been in touch to ask for more worksheets so I'm going to add a few sets of work sheets to a resources area. If you have a printer then you can download and print these off. If you don't have access to a print, please don't worry, these are extra worksheets and are not required to complete our home learning.

I hope that everyone is keeping well.

Take care

DISCOVERY EDUCATION STUDENT ACCESS

Walby Farm Christmas Experience - 12th December 2019

Year 2 had a wonderful time on their school trip to Whinlatter.  We explored the forest ad found a sleeping Gruffalo.  We collected pine cones and fir cones to make into Christmas decorations.  We all enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies in the cafe.  As we were so well behaved we got to meet a special person who had lost a very important reindeer!

As always the children from St Mary's were polite and very well behaved.  Well done Year 2!
