NURSERY

Welcome to St Mary's Nursery!

Below you will find a virtual tour and photos of our wonderful nursery classroom, alongside further information about our learning and provision areas. Some of our areas change regularly to match our topic of learning and the children’s interests, however we do offer lots of consistent continuous provision opportunities for the children to explore and engage with daily. Within our Nursery at St Mary’s we have key areas which cover Maths and Construction, Mark Making and Creative, Role Play, Reading and Discovery. Please take a look!

Welcome to our Maths and Construction area, where the children love to problem solve and investigate shape, size, composition and number using our wonderful resources.

Welcome to our Mark Making and Creative area. The children love to mark make, paint, model and explore colour mixing and textures of materials. This area is a firm favourite amongst our Nursery children!

Here is our Role Play area. We change this every half term to coordinate with our topic and the children's interests. The children love to act out experiences and dress up with their friends whilst exploring different occupations and roles.

Welcome to our Reading area, where the children love to sit together and share their favourite stories. In our quiet area we have a Funky Fingers table where the children can develop their fine motor skills. The children love to investigate using the tweezers, pegs and fine motor tools here. Within this area we also have a Phonics station where the children can explore using the musical instruments and sound resources.

Welcome to our Discovery area, where all of the sensory fun and messy play happens! Here the children love to explore the different materials and create by moulding, squeezing, pinching, squashing etc. Within the Discovery area we have a water area, sand station and tuff tray for the children to explore various sensory materials such as foam, soil, sand, glitter, rice and many more! This area is great for provoking questioning and curiosity.
