Year 2

Homework W/C: 11.12.20

I would just like to say how proud I am of how hard year 2 have worked this half term and how much progress they have made.

Homework is going to be a little different this week as Christmas is approaching and I am well aware of how hard year 2 have worked and think they deserve a little rest. We will not be having a spelling test on Friday 18th December as it is the last day of term! However, could I ask that children please practice the Year 1 and Year 2 ‘Tricky words’ that are on pages p33 to p35 in their reading records as they are expected to spell these words correctly by the end of year 2.

Can I please ask that if there are any problems that you contact me during school hours on p.heron@stmarys-harrington.cumbria.sch.uk. Dojo should only be used for homework only, thank you!

The homework for this week is:

Reading:

School reading book or personal reading book to be read every night for at least 10 minutes and this needs to be recorded into reading journals. Reading journals will be regularly at school.

Spellings:

Have a go at practicing the Common Exception words in your Reading Record.

Times Tables: Children need to be continually focusing on their times tables, especially their 2s, 5s and 10s.

The children also have access to TT Rockstars where they can practise their times tables through play. They should spend at least 10 minutes   three times a week on this.

Have a lovely week and a very merry Christmas!

Miss Heron x
