Reception - Our Lady, Mary

Year 1 - St Paul.

Year 5 - St Francis of Assisi

Year 6 - St Maximillian Kolbe:

In 1914, during the Second World War, Kolbe was arrested and sent to Auschwitz because he was Jewish. In Auschwitz, he continued to work as a priest and offer solace to fellow prisoners despite the terrible circumstances he endured. When the Nazi guards selected 10 men to be starved to death in punishment, he volunteered to die in place of a strange. This demonstrates that he was selfless and courageous person who showed great compassion to others.

St Josephine Bakhita.

St. Josephine Bakhita is a fantastic role model to others because she endured the horrors of slavery and suffered for many years before she escaped into freedom through the group of religious sisters she joined. When Bakhita escaped slavery she found God and opened her heart to him; she forgave those who treated her so badly and welcomed others with a smile.
