  • Cumbria SEND Games

    Wed 30 Jun 2021

    BEE UNIQUE, a West Cumbria Based Autism Charity, was set up to embrace, educate and entertain those diagnosed with and those engaged in the medical diagnosis of Autism as well as supporting their Parents, Families and Carers. As parents and carers themselves to two non-verbal boys with ASC and associated learning difficulties they know that this comes with incredible blessings as well as incredible challenges.

    Their purpose is: To relieve the needs of those diagnosed with Autism and those who are currently engaged in the medical diagnosis of Autism and their immediate families and carers in England in particular, but not exclusively, by the provision of support and recreational activities.

    BEE UNIQUE wanted to set up an event to be the event of the year to celebrate our UNIQUE children. A day that shows why parents can be proud of who they are and of their children. And so came the idea for the Cumbria SEND Games.

    They have teamed up with Mayfield School, Whitehaven, to bring this event, with a hope of also raising a little money for the school and BEE UNIQUE, a registered charity in England and Wales. (Registration No. 1193559)

    The event will ultimately be a sports day for all our children, with entertainers, games, stalls, food and much much more. There will also be many surprises for the parents and carers of those that we have already met.

    They hope that this will grow and grow and become the biggest celebration of our children in the North West.

    The day will include but is not limited to:

    * Fun sports day activities with prizes for all.

    * Stalls selling local crafts.

    * Stalls selling SEND relevant equipment and games.

    * Food and soft drinks.

    * Tea and Coffee.

    * Ice Creams.

    * Sweet Stalls.

    * Entertainers.

    * Magicians.

    * Bungee Trampolines.

    * Fun Fair equipment.

    * Bouncy castles and slides.

    * Generators.

    * Public Announcement Equipment.
