Home learning 17th and 18th September

Friday 11th September

A huge welcome to everyone in Year 1!!!

I am really looking forward to working with you this year. You have all worked really hard this week and I am very impressed with your skills!!!

Each week I will set a phonics/spelling activity and a maths activity for homework. These will reinforce what we have been doing in school.

This week I would like everyone to find 3 things at home that begin with the sound h. Please don't bring your items into school. Please take a photograph of your things and email it to me at

a.walsh@stmarys-harrington.cumbria.sch.uk

For maths you need to find 10 objects at home and then sort these into groups. Ideas for this could be; lego/ duplo bricks grouped according to colour or size, animals or soft toys grouped according to type or colour, packets or tins sorted into shape or socks sorted into colour or pattern. When you have finished take a picture and include it in your email!

I can't wait to see what you get up to!!! Remember to return your reading book on Monday!

Take care

Ms Walsh
