After School Clubs

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School aims to provide a varied programme of After School Clubs for pupils in Year 1 to Year 6. After School Clubs run from 3.15pm to 4.15pm and are scheduled over a full term.

They are run by experienced and dedicated Teachers, Senior Teaching Assistants and professional sports coaches who provide children with an opportunity to take part in a favourite activity or perhaps discover a new and exciting one, all in a relaxed and friendly environment.

It is our aim to:

  • provide a happy and safe, healthy and stimulating environment for children in their after school club.
  • provide appropriate activities that promote the development of self respect, awareness of others, independence and enjoyment.

Costs

Each club cost just £2.00 per week session, with the exception of Cookery Club, which cost £3.00 per week. The full term of clubs must be paid for in advance. Therefore, if the term has 10 weeks, the payment should be £20.00 per child per club. Children can attend as many clubs as they like. There will be a selection of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 clubs as well as Whole school clubs each day.

Booking After School Clubs

  1. the start of each term, each child will receive a After School Clubs letter and booking slip. The booking slip should be completed and returned with payment. Some clubs have limited places, therefore places on these clubs will be allocated on a first come basis. Payment can be made by cash or by cheque made payable to St Mary’s RC Primary School.

Appropriate Clothing

If your child is attending a sporting club such as Football, Gymnastics or Zumba, they must bring appropriate kit to wear. Football is an outdoor club and children should bring a tracksuit to keep warm in the winter months.

Code of Conduct

Children attending the After School Clubs are expected to behave according to the expectations set out in the School Behaviour Policy. The school places an emphasis on promoting positive behaviour. The staff expect children to co-operate well with other children and respond appropriately to requests made regarding behaviour.

Cancellation

If St Mary’s Catholic Primary School has to cancel a club for any reason, we will refund that week. We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible.

Accidents

If your child hurts him/her self during after school care, first aid will be administered. All our staff are First Aid trained. A record of the accident will be made and parents/carers informed.

Collection of Children

Parents/Carers should use the pupils entrances to collect their children at 4.15pm. If anyone other than an authorised person is collecting your child, school should be notified by parents/carers in advance.
