Welcome to Nursery!

In our Nursery, children take their first exciting steps into school life with Miss Kendall and her fantastic team — Miss Kirkbride, Miss Adams and Mrs Jones. Together, they create a caring, fun, and stimulating environment where every child feels happy, valued, and ready to explore the world around them. Through play, creativity, and curiosity, our youngest learners develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning that will grow with them throughout their school journey.

For one of our Bucket List activities, we made our own cinnamon play dough! The children enjoyed helping to mix the ingredients and loved exploring the lovely smell of cinnamon as they squashed, rolled and moulded the dough.

We also used natural resources to make marks. The children explored sticks, leaves and other natural materials, experimenting with different ways to create lines, patterns and shapes.
 

As part of our "All about me" topic, we created our own self-portraits.

We looked carefully at our unique features, including our eye colour, hair colour and skin tone. The children carefully selected colours to match and had a wonderful time!       

During maths, the children have been on a colour hunt to find the colour red. They excitedly searched high and low for red objects, pointing them out and naming what they could see. We talked about different shades of red and enjoyed developing our colour recognition and observation skills as we explored our school environment.
