At St Mary's Catholic Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. We recognise that some pupils may have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and may require additional support to reach their full potential. Our approach is centered on understanding each child as an individual and ensuring that their unique needs are met with care, respect, and high expectations.

We work closely with students, parents, and external professionals to identify needs early and provide appropriate support. This may include tailored learning strategies, targeted interventions, and personalised plans designed to help each pupil succeed both academically and socially. Our dedicated staff are trained to adapt teaching methods and create accessible learning experiences for all.

In line with the SEND Code of Practice, we promote a graduated approach to support, ensuring that provision is regularly reviewed and refined. We also place great importance on fostering confidence, independence, and wellbeing, empowering students to become active and valued members of our school community.

Our goal is simple: to ensure that every child, regardless of their needs, feels included, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.

The SENDIAS (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support) team provides free, impartial guidance to children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities, as well as their parents and carers. Their role is to help families understand their rights, navigate the education, health, and care systems, and make informed decisions about support options. They offer advice on processes such as Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans, school placements, and dispute resolution, while also empowering individuals to express their views and participate in decisions that affect them.
