We were joined by poet Andy Tooze who shared some of his fantastic poems with us. We enjoyed listening to them and joined in with his actions to bring his poetry to life. Andy then joined each class to write some poetry. In Year 3 children wrote about animals and in Year 6, children wrote about their hopes, ambitions and futures! We joined together at the end of the day to celebrate our wonderful writing. Children confidently read their poems to the whole school.

Every class (including Nursery) practised a poem which they then recited during a whole school assembly. It was fantastic to see the children performing with such confidence and enthusiasm!
World Nursery Rhyme Week
To celebrate World Nursery Rhyme Week, Nursery and Reception collaborated to recite and perform some of their favourite nursery rhymes: we invited parents in to watch them perform. They showed great confidence, speaking clearly as well as using fantastic prosody. The parents absolutely loved it! Their favourite rhyme had to be ‘There’s a Dinosaur’ to the tune of 'Wind the Bobbin Up’. To conclude the week, Year 6 joined Reception: both classes shared with each other their favourite nursery rhymes. It was lovely for Year 6 to take a trip back down memory lane!
