We had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day! We commenced the day with a whole school assembly where Year 6 performed a story, ‘Wonderland Mix Up’ which was based on different fairy tale characters who had got stuck in a forest together, their mission was to work together to help the characters escape the forest together! The whole school enjoyed the performance and Year 6 spoke confidently, using great expression and prosody. We then went outside to take part in our annual parade to showcase our wonderful costumes; we dressed as our favourite book characters.

Throughout the rest of the day, we carried out a range of activities with different teachers. Making use of our fantastic school grounds, we participated in a reading scavenger hunt and made our own shadow puppets to performing stories outside. We also made Gruffalo crumble and designed our own recipes based on our favourite book characters as well as creating our own stop-motion animations.
